Anchor Brewing Beer Dinner at Salt Rock Grill

Looking for a way to relax after a busy weekend of holiday shopping?  Join us this Sunday, 12/18 at Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks Beach for a five course beer dinner featuring beers from Anchor Brewing.  Chef Tyson and his crew have created an amazing menu to compliment Anchor ‘s tasty brews, menu is as follows:

Pit Roasted Pulled Pork & Bibb Lettuce wraps with Root Beer BBQ Sauce

Third Course
Oak & Citrus Grilled Free Range Rabbit with a port-cranberry-porter reduction and Cheddar-Jalapeno Cornbread
Paired with Anchor 2010 Christmas Ale

Fourth Course
Seared Local Fresh Catch over Caramelized Leek-Barley Pilaf with a Roasted Beet-Cinnamon Glaze
Paired with Anchor 2011 Christmas Ale

Fifth Course
“Not Your Grandma’s” Fruitcake with candied citrus supremes and a barleywine-Tahitian Vanilla bean Creme Anglaise

American Wheat for the Summer Heat

Before the 1st of April, the Summer seasonal beers slowly started pouring into the marketplace. There will be a lot of wonderful craft offerings to be had this Summer, but these are some very notable thirst quenching brews that you may or may not already know about…

Breckenridge SummerBright Ale is said to be the perfect ale for summertime quaffing. The craftsman’s touch combines white wheat, two row pale and Munich malt with the Pacific Northwest’s most intriguing hops to create a bright, clean ale ideal for picnicking, evenings on the screen porch and enjoying the whims of the summer breeze. – 4.5% abv. (Draft & 4/6pks)

Anchor Summer Beer was the first American wheat beer in modern times. Anchor’s first brew of this light and refreshing beer was in the summer of 1984. Anchor Summer is an all-malt beer, and over 50% of its malt comes from malted wheat. It is fermented with traditional top-fermenting “ale” yeast because they prefer the clean flavors developed by this yeast. The wheatmalt contributes to an unusual lightness and dryness to the palate, and this, combined with the distinctive flavor of the wheat, makes for a perfect thirst-quenching beverage. – 4.5% abv. Boulder Beer composed a tasteful Summer brew for their 10th release of their Looking Glass Series; Kinda Blue Blueberry Wheat Beer. American wheat placed in perfect measure with muted tones of blueberry; where subtlety and accent adds to the depth, not overwhelm overall character. –  5.5% abv. (Draft & 4/6pks)
